Tulinov, Moscow, 1866-1867 6.4 х 10.2 cm Yuri Fedorovich SAMARIN (1819 - 1876) was a renown Russian philosopher, leader of the Slavophil movement, public figure, historian, and publicist. He was also active on the commissions that prepared Peasants Emancipation Reform of 1861. Samarin was Honorable Member of Moscow Univeristy (1868) and Speaker of Moscow City Council (1866—1876).
