The Pyramids, ca. 1900s (?) 25.5 х 31.1 cm Rafail Lvovich (Rafail-Friedrich Ludvigovich) Adelheim (1861–1938) was a Russia-Soviet actor and a Peoples Artist of the Soviet Russian Federation (1931). He graduated Moscow Conservatory as a pianist, and then trained as actor in Austria, at the Vienna Conservatory. In Russia, he worked with his brother Robert for 40 years, beginning 1895, and was considered a leading tragic actor of the Russian theater of his time.
