Initially, Savina played in provincial theaters, but in1869, she was admitted to the Alexandrine Theater in St. Petersburg, then capital of Russia. She was also one of the founders and chairwomen of Russian Theater Society, as well as the founder of House for Retired Actors (today St. Petersburg House for Theater Veterans named after Savina).
